Cultism: Nollywood actors pledge support for one-million-man march

Nollywood actors on Wednesday pledged support for the one-million-man march against cultism being organized by the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV).

It would be recalled that POCACOV had slated December 7 for the one-million-man march against cultism to be held within Enugu metropolis.

The theme of the march is; “Be a Champion; Say No To Cultism’’.

The Nollywood actors led by Nkem Owoh alias Osuofiason, made the pledge when they paid a courtesy visit to the National Coordinator of POCACOV, SP Ebere Amaraizu, in Enugu.

Owoh, who is also a POCACOV ambassador, said that Nollywood actors would galvanise the residents of the state and country to participate in the “important march’’ and make it a huge success.

“We are committed to ensure that youths live fulfilled lives and contribute positively to community and national development by shunning cultism,’’ he said.

Responding, Amaraizu said that POCACOV was organising the one-million-man march in order to carry every one along in its campaign against cultism.

“POCACOV is all about you and how an individual peaceful attitude and disposition will endear security and peace in his environment.

“A lot of stakeholders from different works of life will be mobilized in the march,’’ he said.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that POCACOV was initiated by the Inspector General of Police, Mr Mohammed Adamu, to ensure that Nigerian youths are protected from cultism and its negative consequences. (NAN)
