Minister of Health, Dr Osaho Ehanire, has directed that the COVID 19 patient in Benue state, Susan Okpe, should be transferred to Abuja for further treatment.
Disclosing this to Nigerian Xpress on Thursday, chairman of the state’s action committee on Coronavirus and deputy governor, Engr Benson Abounu, said Susan who was taken to Benue State University Teaching Hospital isolation center after she had tested positive, vehemently refused for her sample to be taken to Abuja for a second test.

Abounu explained that it was as a result of her refusal that his committee briefed the governor and contacted the Minister of Health, Dr Osahor Ehanire, who ordered that she should be brought to Abuja for further treatment.
He said the committee’s search for those that had contacts with Susan would continue, maintaining that no effort would be spared in that regard.
It would be recalled that Susan Okpe returned from London to arrange for her mother’s burial when the symptoms of COVID – 19 began to manifest in her.
Consequently, she was admitted at the Cottage Hospital, Makurdi after she had complained of joint pains and headache but complications emerged, thus, warranting the doctor in charge of the hospital to raise concerns which attracted Abounu’s committee.
