COVID-19: Lagosians urged to shun panic buying

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has appealed to Lagosians to avoid panic buying. 

The governor gave the announcement on Friday while giving updates on the coronavirus outbreak in the state.

He advised that only essential things must be bought noting that there is no need to rush into panic buying, following the closure of gatherings in the city.

His words,“It is not out of place for people not to have essential things at home, there is no need for us to start panic buying.”

“We have not locked down the city, we have not said people cannot go to work, we have not said people cannot move from one place to the other.

“We have not said that people cannot communicate, what we have said is that people should observe social distancing as much as possible and should desist from the assemblage of people that is more than a certain number that has been prescribed.”

The governor also advised Lagosians to avoid overcrowded buses.
