In an effort to further flatten the curve on coronavirus spread, Hopewell Initiatives for National Development, (HIND), a charity organisation over the weekend donated food items to residents of two communities in Lagos.
The organisation reached out to over 100 households in both Ike Oluwa and
Igbehin Adun Communities.
Founder of the charity organisation, Mrs. Bilquees Aiyepola described the exercise as proof of the foundation’s strong commitment to reaching out to the less privileged in the communities and helping to ease the feeding challenges some of them are facing at this trying period of the COVID-19 pandemic.
She observed that government alone cannot provide succor for the teeming populace, hence the need for privileged individuals and organisations to complement government’s efforts in the fight against the scourge as the state and entire nation “match on to victory against this pandemic”.

While renewing calls for others to support the less privileged people at this time, she appealed to the Lagos state government to further identify with the needs of the people.
She, however, urged the beneficiaries to cultivate the habit of handwashing with soap to guard against contracting the deadly Corona Virus, noting that best hygiene practices must be binding on all.
“This is one of those things we do at HIND foundation. Ours is a noble cause as we we want to ensure that people don’t die of hunger at this trying period.
We are happy that we have been able to provide succor for members of these communities.”
This outing essentially represents what we do and what we stand for as an NGO. Our resolve to help people who genuinely need help remains as strong as ever.” she affirmed.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to our correspondent thanked the non-profit organisation for doing a wonderful job and said they were blessed to have benefited from the kind gesture.
