COVID-19: Buhari breaks silence, tweets to Nigerians

Amidu Arije

President Muhammadu Buhari has broke his continued silence over the deadly coronavirus that has dealt a devastating blow on the country.

It would be recalled that the country witnessed its first coronavirus when an Italian man was diagnosed of the disease in Lagos. Since then, Nigerians have been expecting the country’s helmsman to address them on his government actions over the deadly virus.

As a response to the clamouring of Nigerians, President Buhari took to his Twitter handle at Muhammadu Buhari @MBuhari to talk to Nigerians on steps the government has taken.

In his tweets, the president praised the health ministers, NCDC and the Presidential Taskforce Committee on coronavirus.

His tweets:
“I have absolute confidence in the relevant Ministers in the cabinet, the Presidential Task Force on Coronavirus which I recently established, and the officials of the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), who are all providing constant updates and professional counsel.
Protecting Nigerians from the Coronavirus is a key priority for us as a Government. We have the Ministry of Health and the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) working round-the-clock with several other agencies, as well as State Governments, to ensure this.”
