The National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) is currently frantically working on blood samples of no fewer than eight cabinet ministers of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government to determine their Coronavirus status.
The ministers, The Nigerian Xpress gathered, would know their fates today (Thursday). It was also gathered that a female is among the ministers being tested.
It was learnt that some of the ministers included a few involved in managing the COVID-19 pandemic for the country are among those tested.
Although the list was kept under wraps in line with the relevant guidelines, the ministers are expected to be communicated on Thursday.
But a top source said, “the measure is preventive since those tested had played key roles in helping the nation to face the challenges of COVID-19.

“This government is being fair and realistic in managing COVID-19 without discrimination.
“Already, eight ministers have undergone CONVID-19 test alongside some government officials.
“This administration has nothing to hide; it is prepared to make disclosures in line with international best practices.
“The import of the test is to ensure that those in charge of the pandemic also have a clean bill of health. Where they need care themselves, the government will take necessary measures.
“We want Nigerians to appreciate that the pandemic is not racial or political. Coronavirus disease does not have boundary and it is not peculiar to any class of people.”
