A Kwara Revenue Court, on Monday struck out the case of alleged defamation of character, filed by Alhaja Nike Lambe, the Iya-loja(General Market Leader of Kwara), against her assistant, Hajiya Mariam Moshood.
Magistrate, Mr Z. Jubril, struck out the case, after being informed that parties has reached an out-of-court settlement.
Jubril had adjourned the case until May 27, for mention, after admitting Moshood to bail in the sum of N200,000, with two sureties in like sum.
The Prosecution Counsel, Mr Taofeeq Sanusi, told the court that on April 16, Moshood caused the media to write false allegations against Lambe, the market leader.

Sanusi said that the false allegation made by Moshood, was intended to harm the reputation of the market leader, being a respected public figure.
“In one of the publication which went viral, the accused person, without any proof, falsely accused the complainant of misappropriating N100 million, with a view to tarnish the hard earned image and reputation of the complainant.
“She has also threatened the life of the complainant. She has also threatened to deal with her, if she continues to parade herself as the Iya-loja of Kwara, a position that the accused is eyeing to occupy through illegal means,” he said.
The counsel said that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 391, 397 and 418 of the Penal Code Law. (NAN)
