The Appeal Court will on Tuesday next week hear the appeal filed by the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, against the Federal Government.
Justice Binta Nyako of an Abuja Federal High Court had, on April 8, struck out eight of the 15-count treasonable felony charge preferred against Mazi Kanu by the Federal Government.
Dissatisfied, Mazi Kanu proceeded to the Appeal Court to challenge the remaining seven charges.

The Appeal Court, which fixed October 11, 2022, has rescheduled hearing of the appeal, for Tuesday next week, according to Kanu’s lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor.
“Our Appeal No: CA/ABJ/CR/ 625/2022; between Nnamdi Kanu vs the Federal Republic of Nigeria, earlier scheduled for Hearing on the 11th Day of October, 2022, has been brought forward to the 13th day of September, 2022,” the lawyer said in a statement.

“Your relentless prayers and supplications are positively impacting.
“It, therefore, means that hearing on Onyendu’s Appeal challenging the remaining Seven count Charge filed against him, will now be coming up for Hearing at the Court of Appeal Abuja, next Tuesday, being the 13th Day of September, 2022.”
Mazi Kanu, who has been in detention since his re-arrest in far-away Kenya, in July, last year, is being tried for his campaign for a separate state of Biafra.
