A Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court, on Friday, remanded a farmer, Moses Samson, over alleged cheating.
Samson, 35, residing at Ungwan Sunday community in Kaduna, is standing trial for cheating.
The Police Prosecutor, Insp. Chidi Leo, told the court that one Ezekiel Auta of Sabon Tasha, Kaduna reported the matter to the police on January 15.
According to Leo, sometime in September 2018, the complainant bought a plot of land from the defendant at a cost of N430, 000 but later another person laid claim to the same plot of land.

The prosecutor said that all efforts by the complainant to retrieve his money from the defendant had proved abortive.
The prosecutor said the action of the defendant was contrary to Section 322 of the Penal Code.
When the charge was read to the defendant, he pleaded guilty and begged the court for leniency.
The Magistrate, Mr Ibrahim Emmanuel, reserved sentence till Feb. 27 and ordered that the defendant be remanded in prison. (NAN)
