A former Minister of Sports and Special Duties, Professor Taoheed Adedoja has disasociated himself from a group purportedly constituted to handle appointments for the in-coming President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Vice, Sen. Kashim Shettima.
Adedoja, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Oyo state debunked the inclusion of his name in the said council in a statement he personally signed and made available to the media.
The statement reads, “My attention has been drawn to a publication that has gone virile by a faceless group with the name, ‘Tinubu/ Shetima Associates’ purporting to have constituted a ‘Council for appointments’ for the purpose of nominating persons for various appointments by the in coming administration.
“The ‘Council,’ so ‘constituted’ is said to comprise of names of very prominent Nigerians across the country, including my name.
“Please note that I am not in any way aware of such an association or ‘Council’ and therefore disassociate myself from this ‘group’ that I know nothing about.
“My name and my hard earned reputation should therefore not be used for such an unauthorised body or similar bodies for such nefarious activities.
“The activities of the ‘group’ have been reported to appropriate security agencies.”
