Corps member serving with Channels TV shot dead during Shiites, police clash

A 23-year-old National Youth Service Corps member, serving with Channels Television was, on Monday, shot dead during the police and Shiites protesters clash, in Abuja.

The corps member, identified as Precious Owolabi, was covering the protest when it suddenly turned violent.

According to a statement by Channels Television, “The management and staff of Channels Television are greatly saddened by the untimely and unfortunate death of such a promising journalist.

“We pray that God will grant his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, and avail his soul eternal rest.”
