In the wake of the spread of the deadly Coronavirus, the Lagos State Bus Rapid Transit, BRT, has decided to limit its passengers to 50 on each trip.
In a message from the Managing Director, Primero, operators of the BRT buses, Folarin Tinubu, the measure is in obedience to the state government directive to reduce large gatherings in public places to 50.
“Primero has decided that the maximum passengers each bus will carry will not be more than 50 passengers. We’ll disinfect all our buses on a daily basis. We’ll provide protective gears for all our staff that are interacting with commuters. We’ll work with the Lagos State government on the possibility of disinfecting the bus shelters daily, and we’ll provide a hotline for passengers in case they have questions or concerns,” the MD said.
According to the MD, other measures are: “We’ll deploy in all our shelters information pamphlets for commuters on this virus. We’ll continue to monitor the situation and come up with other initiatives as situation warrants.”
He enjoined all “commuters to be patient and work with us to ensure their safety and our staff safety also.”
