Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, also known as Evans, the convicted billionaire kidnapper, has opted for a plea bargain during his re-arraignment in the fresh charges brought against him, alongside his co-defendant, Joseph Emeka.
The duo had been sentenced to life in prison for murder and kidnapping.
Yusuf Sule, the lead counsel, disclosed this to the court on Thursday when the case was called for re-arraignment before Justice Adenike Cokers of an Ikeja High Court.
The two were to be re-arraigned on an amended five-count charge, bordering on murder, attempt to murder, and conspiracy to commit felony to wit: kidnapping and attempt to murder.
Sule informed the court that he was aware the defendants application for a plea bargain, adding, however, that the plea bargain terms were being considered by the Attorney-General of Lagos State, Mr. Lawal Pedro.
