Not a few people were confused as a renowned Muslim scholar and his followers fasted Tuesday when the whole world was celebrating the end of 2019 Ramadan fast.
The renowned scholar, Sheikh Habibullahi Adam Al-Ilory, who is the Principal of the famous Arabic and Islamic Centre popularly called Marcas did not observe Tuesday along with his followers.
The reason for his action, is expected to manifest Wednesday when he delivers his sermon after the prayer.
Recall that Saudi Arabia, the undisputable origin of Islam Monday announced the sighting of the Crescent signalling termination of fast.
In the same vein, the Spiritual Head of the Nigerian Muslim and President of the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Abubakar Sa’ad also announced the sighting of the Crescent on Monday and thereby declared Tuesday Idul-fitr day.
