This year 2020 was ushered in with interdenominational prayers by a community in Osun State with a view to asking for God’s mercy, blessings and protection of the residents throughout the New Year and beyond.
Igbaye, one of the most important towns in Odo-Otin Local Government Area, about two years ago set up a peace and conflicts resolution committee across the two major religions-Christianity and Islam-with a view to charting a course for peaceful co-existence in the community.
The committee is headed by joint leadership of Sheikh Abdur-Razaq Odewale (Darus-Salam, Muslim), and Pastor Ben Adegoke, Leader of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), of the area.
Part of the committee’s terms of reference besides conflict resolution and curbing crimes that usually come up among the youth through youthful exuberance, is organization of periodical prayers for the town.
