Residents of communities in Pakata Area of Ilorin West Local Government have appealed to the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to come to help construct a damaged culvert in the area.
The governor is being currently commended for fixing roads that had long been bad in the communities across the state, Ilorin, the State capital inclusive.
The Pakata area communities begging the governor to include them in the development package were Alada, Tidibodo, Alomonikun, Abatasunsehin and Maikaara.
They made the appeal in a statement jointly signed by Alhaji Ganiyu Mutalib and Alhaji Abdulrahman Solihu, Chairman and Secretary, respectively.
According to them, the damaged culvert had affected their economic activities because the road had been rendered unpassable for long, adding that they often resort to take longer routes to connect to other communities.
Their case, they said gets worse whenever it rains pointing out that rains are often attended with flooding causing several areas to get submerged in the flood.
“We are afraid that when the rain start again it will be torrential as a result of the long break.
“If the rain start, our property, buildings and little children may be in danger as a result of the attendant flood that will take over the entire communities.

“Sir, we hereby implore you to please urgently come to our aid and rescue us from imminent flood when rain commences again,” they begged.
The residents commended the governor for his masses oriented programs since he assumed office saying ; “We specifically commended you for your love for the masses, especially the down trodden ones in the masses.
“On behalf of the entire residents of Alada, Tidibodo, Alomonikun, Abatasunsehin and Maikaara all in Pakata area of Ilorin, we pray Almighty Allah to continue to guide you to pilot the affairs of the state to grater height”.
