Track and Field Coaches Association of Nigeria has named the Chief Executive Officer of Monimichelle, Ebi Egbe, as its patron.
The coaches body in a letter conveying the appointment to Egbe stated that he was named patron based on his track record.
The letter which was signed by the president of the coaches association, Godwin Ogogo stated in part: “Many things were taken into consideration amongst which is your proven character and track record in sports.”
The Track and Field Coaches Association which is affiliated to the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) is made up of professional coaches that in their heydays won laurels for Nigeria at international competitions such as the All Africa Games, Commonwealth Games and the Olympics.
Egbe who yesterday expressed joy over the recognition said the appointment is coming at a time when his firm, Monimichelle has just installed the best athletics track in the continent at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa.
“I m happy with this recognition which is coming from athletics coaches. My firm Monimichelle is not only into football pitches construction. We have just installed for Bayelsa State government a state of the art athletics track at the Samson Siasia Stadium. Monimichelle is out to ensure that the country gets the right facilities to move our sports forward,” Egbe said.
