The 22nd Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola retired on Thursday.
Justice Ariwoola will on Friday, August 22 clock the retirement age of 70. He was born in 1954.
He was appointed CJN on June 22, 2022, and the appointment was confirmed on September 21, 2022.
Before the appointment as the nation’s number one jurist, he had served in the Supreme Court since November 22, 2011.
Justice Ariwoola will be succeeded by Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun who was nominated by the National Judicial Council for confirmation by confirmation by President Bola Tinubu and screening by the Senate.
