Governor Douye Diri, last week, led a high-powered delegation to pay a Christmas visit to his predecessor in office, Sen. Seriake Dickson at the latter’s country home in Toru Orua area of Bayelsa State.
“In my remarks, I thanked him for the visit, that I look forward to reciprocating the gesture which I have done for the past three years also.
“I congratulated him and thanked every one who voted for him particularly Bayelsa West for the decisive support given at the election.
“The state and the Senatorial District is with him and we wish him best of luck and success in the next four years.
“I call for support and prayers and that there should be forgiveness, and tolerance and maturity in leadership. The state has peace and stability as a result of maturity and tolerance. I hope that this spirit will endure through out his tenure and expect whoever will be the successor to learn from this and take it up with our support. Bayelsa should appreciate and understand this and value it.”
