China tackles Trump over attempts to take over Gaza

China has tackled President Donald Trump of the United States of America over the latter’s moves to take the war ravaged territory of Gaza.

Following the war between Israel and Palestine, Trump had proposed the relocation of the Palestines in Gaza to Egypt and subsequent take over of the place in order to ‘rebuild’ the territory, according to him.

However, while reacting to the move by the US to take over Gaza, China through its Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun at a press conference said it is behind the Palestinians in staying in Gaza and opposed Trump moves.

China warned that Gaza, being a part of Palestinian territory, should not be treated as a political bargaining chip or controlled by external powers.’

“Gaza belongs to the Palestinian people. It is an inalienable part of the territory of Palestine, not a bargaining chip for political games, still less a prey of the strong,’ Jiakun said.

Jiakun added that countries across the world should rally round Gaza by helping to rebuild their territory have been left devastated by the war.

He further warned that China will resist any attempt by any country to displace the Palestinians and take over Gaza by force against their legitimate national rights.

He also gave assurance that China will work with other nations in finding lasting solutions to conflicts between Israel and Palestines as well as provide humanitarian support to the people.

Jiakun lamented that the war has left the people of Gaza suffering and urged countries not to make their conditions worse but should join hands in rebuilding the territory.
