Change of guards at AMCON as Tinubu sacks Kuru, appoints new  management team

President Bola Tinubu has sacked the Chief executive of approved the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria, AMCON, Ahmed Kuru. 
A statement by Ajuri Ngelale, special adviser to the President on media and publicity, also disclosed that Tinubu appointed a new management team , comprising Gbenga Alade (Managing Director/CEO); Aminu Ismail (Executive Director); Adeshola Lamidi (Executive Director) and Lucky Adaghe (Executive Director).
The appointments await confirmation by the Senate.
According to the statement: “The President expects unflagging dedication, professionalism, and dutifulness from the new appointees so as to ensure that the operations of AMCON are more efficient, transparent, and in consonance with his determination to sanitize the nation’s financial system to maximize value and enhance investor confidence in the Nigerian economy.”
Kuru first became the AMCON boss when he was appointed in 2015 by former president Muhammadu Buhari  with a renewed mandate in December 2020.

However, with Alade’s appointment,  Kuru’s second term has been cut short.
