The Catholic Diocese of Enugu has taken off the lid it placed on Fr. Mbaka’s Adoration Ministry, Enugu, three months ago.
Most Rev. Callistus Onaga, the diocese’s Bishop had on June 3, ordered Mbaka, who is the Spiritual Director of the Ministry, to stop making political statements but eventually suspended activities at ministry indefinitely after Mbaka again delved into partisan political comments soon after the ban was lifted.
Mbaka had attacked the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, describing him as a “stingy man.”

Consequently, Onaga issued a pastoral injunction on attendance at the Catholic Adoration Ministry Chaplaincy in Enugu and forbade all Catholics to attend the ministry till further notice.
However, the Director of Communication for the Diocese of Enugu, Rev. Fr. Benjamin Achi, confirmed the lifting of the ban.
The ban on Mbaka from involving in political matters remains in force.
Mbaka has also announced the reopening of the Adoration Ministry via a statement.
“To the glory of God, Adoration Ministries start on Sunday, October 2, 2022, with 10am mass. God bless you miraculously as you come joyfully to worship God with us,” he said.
