Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, still smarting from his loss in the February presidential election, has frowned at the humongous amount of money expended on the controversial election.
According to Obi, Nigerians were given the wrong end of the stick in the election.
Speaking in an interview on Arise TV on Monday, Obi said: “We went into the election with the strong faith in the law signed by Buhari. FG spent billions of naira for the election. Buhari would’ve just appointed his successor and invested the money in other sectors of the Economy instead of this shamble.”
On his purported arrest during his last trip to the United Kingdom, saying: “I lived in the UK in the 90s from 1993 to 2005. From that time till now is a period of 30 years and I have never been questioned, arrested or detained in any country in the world.
“I have never been arrested or questioned in any manner. I have never committed any offence. So, what happened was a routine immigration check and that happened not less than 20 minutes and I was given all due respect by the authorities,” the former Anambra governor clarified.
The presidential hopeful also reacted to the leadership crisis in the Labour Party and the controversial acting national chairman, Lamidi Apapa.

He said: “I have never met the Apapa in my life. The Labour Party has no issue. We know they have paid him to cause confusion, and since he has collected his money, we are still contemplating asking him to come back.”
Obi also addressed the issue of his the leaked voice he reportedly had with Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith Church Worldwide, dismissing it as a non issue.
“Let’s assume I even begged Bishop to tell his congregation to vote for me so as to save Nigeria, is it not better than telling my followers to snatch it, steal it, and run away with it,” Obi said.
