Buhari opposed to state of emergency in Anambra – Gov Obiano

The Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, has said President Muhammadu Buhari is averse to the proposed plan to declare state of emergency in the state, following violent attacks.
Obiano had on Thursday met with the president at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Thereafter, he said Buhari assured him that he was only interested in a free and fair election in the gubernatorial poll in the state slated for November 6.
“But if people in his party are going around making insinuations, using his name to do things, the President clearly told me that he does not support that,” the governor said.
He described as unfortunate, the suggestion that the state of emergency could be imposed on Anambra to engender security of lives.
He faulted the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, for failing to make similar proposals with regard to the security crisis in some northern states, urging him to reserve his expressions over such issues.
