President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday, met with Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, at the Presidential Villa, Asao Rock, Abuja.
Emefiele, who recently got reappointed as governor of CBN, was seen shaking hands with the president who congratulated him.
The reason for the meeting was not disclosed but it came following the controversy surrounding a leaked audio exposing an alleged missing N500 billion under Emefiele’s watch.

Recall that the Director, Corporate Communications, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Mr. Isaac Okoroafor, on Sunday, had said that no money was missing or stolen from the bank’s coffers as reported in some section of the media.
Okoroafor said this in a statement on Sunday while reacting to a recent article and audio clips in which the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, and other senior officials were heard discussing discrepancies in the bank’s accounts.
