Muslims at praying ground of the ancient town of Iwo, in Osun State, witnessed a bit of commotion after the Eid-el-Fitri prayer, when some clerics and aides of the town’s monarch, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdur-Rasheed Adewale, Telu 1 of Iwoland had a confrontation at the event.
The Nigerian Xpess gathered that the crisis was as a result of the announcement of the monarch’s purported removal of two chiefs from office.
Our correspondent gathered that using such a venue for such an announcement angered some clerics who voiced out their reservations over the monarch’s action on such a holy ground where faithful gathered for celebration.
The clerics’ effrontery was said to have angered some aides of the monarch who were said to have engaged them in a verbal altercation that was said to have eventually led to fisticuff among them.
