As Ohaji/Egbema (Ang) Diocese ordains 3 deacons

The Anglican Bishop of Ohaji/Egbema Diocese, The Rt. Revd. Chidi Collins Oparaojiaku, has expressed regrets over the flooding of the Ministry of God by self-proclaimed pastors who, he said, were frustrated in their businesses and professions and turned to the Ministry.
The prelate made this observation during the ordination church service of three deacos in the diocese, held at the Cathedral of St. Peter Umuokanne, Ohaji, Imo State.
He attributed the fact that the church in Nigeria has no yardstick to select anyone called by God as the reasons why everybody could wake up and claim to have been called by God when in actual sense the reverse is the case.
He lamented that already the Ministry of God has been flooded with ‘men of God’ who, he said, were frustrated in their individual businesses and professions and who sees the ministry as an escape route.

He reminded the people that Ministry of God is meant for special and intelligent people and not people claimed to have been called, but who were not.
He noted that these same people, no doubt, would not succeed given their background through which they entered into the Ministry.
Bishop Oparaojiaku recalled that in the ancient time, the Ministry of God were meant for those who were called giving the hazardous experience that awaited them such as famine, scarcity, trial moment, persecution among others
He said that what is happening in the present day time does not, in any way, mean that the gospel has changed but rather it goes to authenticate the fulfillment of the prophesy of the end-time.
To those ordained, the bishop charged them to go out to serve God with all their hearts and not to disgrace thee Holy Order of God
In his sermon during the church service, the Archdeacon in charge of St. Patrick’s Anglican Church Assa, Ven. Edwin Emedininwa, charged the ordained Deacons to ensure they give true teachings to the people, adding that as a shepherd of God they are expected to draw people to God, love their congregation and not to take them for granted
H advised them to always be nourished with the word of God and remain prayerful both for themselves and for their members so that their Ministries would grow
Those ordained included Ord. Augustine Uche Ogomoegbulam, Ord. Ambrose Anoshirim Nwaogu, and Ord. Dr.Felix Okechukwu Elisha-Wigwe
