The police have arrested a suspect, Samuel Godson, who jumped bail, after a Lagos Cleric, Bishop Abraham Okoh, stood surety for him and his elder brother, Pastor Moses Nwachukwu, at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, Yaba, Lagos, over alleged fraud case of N 4,028,000.00. He was arrested in a hotel in Enugu State.
The Nigerian Express had reported that Pastor Nwachukwu and his younger brother, Samuel Godson, were involved in a failed Ponzi scheme of N 4,028,000.00.
The duo had approached a staff of Eugenecho Oil and Gas Limited, Ojo, Lagos State, Patrick Orji, to invest in what they called crypto currency digital money, which they told him it was a technique, used to regulate the generation of units of currency, and verifying the transfer of funds. Orji reportedly did not not only invest in the scheme but also went extra miles to allegedly steal from the fund of the company, to invest in the crypto business. When the company discovered that some money was missing, they arrested Orji, who in turn, fingered the pastor and his brother as his accomplices.

The two were also arrested by Policemen from Lagos State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, (SCIID), Panti, Yaba.
Bishop Okoh had told The Nigerian Xpress that Pastor Nwachukwu, whom he has known for years had called and told him that he had been arrested at a ban and taken to Ojo Police Station, where he was detained and eventually taken to SCIID. At the SCIID, Okoh said out of his kind gesture, he stood surety for the duo, promising to provide Nwachukwu and Godson, anytime the police needed them and they were released on bail to him.
However, after regaining their freedom, the two suspects went into hiding. All efforts to get them report to the police, proved abortive and advised the Bishop to also go into hiding like them. Bishop refusedand chose to report himself to SCIID instead. He was detained and later arraigned in Yaba Magistrate Court, which ordered that he be remanded in Ikoyi Prison for failure to fulfill his bail condition.
However, confirming the arrest of Godson, our source at the SCIID told the reporter recently that following a tip off, policemen from Ogui Police Station, arrested the suspect in a hotel in Enugu State.
When the reporter contacted one of the officers at the station, ASP Justice, he confirmed the arrest of the suspect. He said following information they received from Lagos State, they went to Sunshine Hotel in Otigba area, where the suspect had checked in and arrested him.
He disclosed that the suspect would be sent to Lagos where the alleged crime was committed.
