Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, on Monday, met with the senator representing the state in the National Assembly and his predecessor in office, Sen. Seriake Dickson, where the governor presented the Certificate of Return issued to him by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on his recent victory at the gubernatorial poll.
In a terse statement issued by Sen. Dickson’s office, it read, “This evening, His Excellency, the Governor Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, visited me as he usually does when he is in Abuja and to also use the opportunity to present his certificate of return issued by INEC on his recent victory at the Gubernatorial poll.

“I had called to congratulate him and wish him well earlier but he insisted on presenting it to me even though I tried to discourage him from doing so.
“I congratulated him again and thanked him for the honour.” Sen. Dickson used the opportunity to call on the people of Bayelsa State “and the entire Ijaw nation to support and pray for his success to enable him consolidate on the development, stability and prosperity of the state.”
