Bayelsa Assembly Screens, confirms 13 new commissioners

The Bayelsa state House of Assembly has screened and confirmed 13 out 14 commissioners nominees sent to it by governor Douye Diri.
Out of the fourteen nominees sent to the Assembly for screening, seven are former commissioners in the last four years of the just ended administration while seven are newly nominated.
The six former commissioners nominated and screened by the House on Thursday include: Danni Biriyai (SAN), Maxwell Ebibai,Moses Teibiwei, Daniel Igali, Gentle Emelah and Jones Ebieri and Ayibapreye Brodericks ,
While the newly nominated commissioners include: Mrs. Koku Obiyai, George Flint, Komuko Kharim, Perepuighe Biewari, Barr. Peter Afagha, Mrs. Bidei Elizabeth and Michael Magbisa.
One of the nominees, Daniel Igali, was however absent as no reasons were advanced for his absence.
Advising the nominees shortly after the screening, the Deputy Speaker, Hon.
Michael Ogbere, enjoined them to work as a team with those they will meet on ground, and remain loyal to the government at all times.
Also in his advice, the leader of the House, Rt. Hon. Monday-Bubou Edwin
Obolo said the people of the state expect a lot from them and that the House will do its best to keep them on their toes, through its oversight functions while giving them the needed legislative support where necessary.
The Speaker, Abraham Ingobere presided over the ceremony which was witnessed by relatives and well-wishers of the nominees.
