Anderson Bankole, the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF)’s 2nd Vice-President, has been appointed into the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF)’s Para Table Tennis Committee.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that his appointment was ratified at the recent ITTF annual general meeting in Budapest, Hungary.
Bankole told NAN in Ibadan on telephone from Hungary on Thursday that the appointment is a call to service.
He said that he now has more responsibilities to Table Tennis development in Nigeria, Africa and the world, in general.
“This is a good development for Nigeria; the appointment shows that Nigeria’s effort at developing Table Tennis are being recognised.

“I’m now saddled with more responsibility at ensuring that Table Tennis is further developed not just here in Nigeria or Africa,’’ he said.
Bankole, who is also a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), gave assurances that Nigeria would benefit from his appointment.
“I’ll make sure that Nigeria gets to benefit as much as possible from the international body. There are still a lot that is needed by Nigerian players,’’ the DCP said.
