The kidnapped Emir of January, Alhassan Adamu, has regained his freedom.
The monarch was kidnapped by suspected bandits on Sunday alongside his wives, children and aides.
However, his eldest son, who is the Madakin Kajuru, Musa Alhassan, told BBC Hausa that his father had returned home alone on Monday afternoon without any of his wives and others that were kidnapped with him in Kajuru town, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State
“We were all at home when we saw him approaching us inside the house alone,” Alhassan said.
The kidnappers had reportedly demanded N200 million for the emir’s release but it has not yet been ascertained if any ransom was paid before he was released.
Elated subjects of the Emir thronged the palace in their numbers to celebrate the release of their leader.
