Nollywood Yoruba actor, Oniyinka Olarenwaju, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, may be enjoying the bail granted him but the ripples of his alleged sexual molestation of a minor are escalating.
Baba Ijesha’s tormentor-in-chief, Comedienne Damilola Adekoya, aka Princess, has rubbished Idowu Philips, fondly called Iya Rainbow, describing the veteran actress as a hypocrite for meddling in the matter.
Priness deplored Iya Rainbow’s interview on BBC Yoruba on the ongoing sexual assault case.
In the said interview, Iya Rainbow had narrated how she called Princess on phone to plead with her to release Baba Ijesha from police custody, urging the case should be solved amicably.
“I called Princess for four days not to let the case escalate but she refused. Now Baba Ijesha has been released, can you now see? Baba Ijesha may not say anything but he will definitely know those doing evil.
“That’s why we said we should solve it amicably either Baba Ijesha is guilty or not, now Princess is running helter-skelter looking for what next to do,” It’s Rainbow had said.
Obviously riled by that revelation, Princess in a 15- minute video, confirmed that Iya Rainbow called her and showed empathy, promising to visit her at home but never showed up.
She said: “You called me to pretend you were devastated by the issue. After pouring out my heart to you, you were shouting Jesus! You immediately asked for my address.
“You said & I quote “My dear I am coming to see you, this is too much for you to bear” Did you come? No. I did not complain because my focus is on my CHILD. Then 2 & half months later you say this and you expect me to play dumb,” Princess began.
“While I explained everything to you on phone you were pretending like a good mother. Imagine Mama Rianbow that I hold in high esteem, if I was your child would you have acted this way?
“My silence does not mean I don’t kno what I am doing, I don’t expect this from you at all. I am quiet because I am going through a lot of pains not because of you. You were so insensitive to have said all you said.”
Meanwhile, Actress Nkechi Blessing has apologised to veteran actor, Jide Kosoko and entire TAMPAN body, following her recent outburst with regard to her suspension from the movie industry..
However, she stood her ground and vowed to always speak up against sexual abuse, which was the cause of the disagreement.
She insisted that if she would not hesitate to speak up against rape, sexual assault and molestation of minors, if she had the opportunity to do so again.
Blessing had cursed Jide Kosoko after he and a few others were seen warning movie producers not to work with Nkechi and Iyabo Ojo because of their suspension from the movie Industry in a viral video.
In a recent post on her Instagram page though, a remorseful Blessing acknowledged that she was disrespectful and apologised for everything.
She said: “The last couple of days has been of mixed feelings, anger, concern, disbelief, shock, and confusion.
” I did not get why TAMPAN directed their members not to work with me because there is nowhere that I spoke against TAMPAN, respected elders and colleagues who are their members.
“The only thing I have done is to speak against the culture of rape, pedophilia attitude and stood against Legemiami who tactically gave support to a man who has been alleged to sexually harass a minor…i will never be friends with those who are friendly towards assault, sexual harassment and molestation of any kind.
“I had to speak against this culture because this minor needs to be protected and this is not just about the minor in particular, it’s about the minors all over the world especially minors in the Nigerian space.
“For so long a time many people do not see what the big deal is about sexual harassment, rape and assault on women generally and the sickening trend now are those men who seek pleasure in assaulting minors sexually.
“No reasonable person should keep quiet upon hearing about the assault of a minor. As much as we should seek the truth, our first reaction should be to protect the minor and perpetuate awareness against sexual assault of minors, that was what I did and I would be more than glad to do that again.
“I have nothing but love and respect for TAMPAN, its members, and the elders.
“I acknowledge the fact that my response to Daddy Jide Kosoko’s threat against my career was disrespectful, for that, I sincerely apologise to him and I say I am sorry Sir.. as I was driven by my emotions but I will never be sorry for standing against rape, sexual assault and molestation of minors.”
