Aso Rock chapel won’t be closed – Fani- Kayode replies Okowa

A spokesman of the All Progressives Congress Presidential CAmpaigh Council (APC PCC), Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, has rejected the claim that the Aso Rock chapel would be closed for four years.

Recall that vice Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Governor Ifeanyi Okowa had, on Saturday, said the Aso Rock chapel would be closed for four years due to the Muslim-Muslim ticket.

Okowa had reportedly said that the Muslim-Muslim Presidency was not God’s will for Nigeria.

He was quoted to have said that, “It is not the will of God that the Chapel in Aso Rock will be closed for four years as a result of the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the APC, Okowa had said.”

But reacting to the claim, Mr. Fani- Kayode said the chapel would not be closed because wife of the President-elect’s wife, Sen. Remi Tinubu is a pastor.

He said in a tweet, “The assertion that the Aso Rock Chapel will be shut down for four years because @officialABAT and @KashimSM, the President-elect & Vice President-elect respectively, are Muslims is absurd given the fact that the in-coming First Lady is not only a Christian but also a Pastor”.
