APC women grumble over non-payment for Tinubu’s rally amidst promises

Hundreds of women from the All Progressives Congress (APC) who trooped out Wednesday to march in solidarity for the party’s Presidential flag-bearer, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Ahmed Tinubu, were disappointed that they were not paid for their efforts eventually.

Blueprint correspondent gathered from some of the women who were rushing home between 3 and 4pm after being drenched by the heavy downpour that flooded the city of Owerri, the Imo State capital and made human and vehicular movement difficult, that nothing was given to them.

One of the women, in her 60s, lamented that they were out there since morning, only to be discharged unceremoniously.

The other woman, in her 50s, when asked whether they were appreciated or not, simply said, “I don’t know”,  because she suspected that the person asking her the question was a journalist.

Another woman who was patiently waiting along Bank Road to board a vehicle to Orlu Road opened up to this reporter.

“We are yet to see anything after all the promises,” she said.

However, efforts by our correspondent to get the Imo APC Woman Leader to comment on the issue proved abortive as her line was switched off.
