The All Progressives Congress (APC) may have settled for Sen. Godswill Akpabio as the consensus candidate for the seat of the next Senate President of Nigeria.
This was made known by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, in a video captured and and shared on the internet.
The Kano State governor revealed in the video that APC leaders had met and resolved to zone the position to the South-South region of the country.
Going further, he mentioned that Akpabio has been chosen for the position and he is just waiting for the D-Day before the official announcement is made.

“The uncommon governor, minister, waiting to be the uncommon president of the senate. We have resolved for that, we have given you assurance, we are just waiting for the D-day.”
It would be recalled that there were reports that the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stood against zoning for the Senate Presidency but it seems that has been sorted within the Party.
