APC chieftain, Ashafa, Foundation empower, graduates 49 computer trainees

Lagos All Progressive Congress, APC chieftain and a two term Senator Senator Olugbenga Ashafa, through his foundation, Total Nucleus Foundation, has graduated 49 individuals trained in Basic computer Appreciation and Computer Based Test Competency.

The graduation ceremony which took place over the weekend was the second batch of trainees to graduate in less than six months, this year.

According to the Director-General of the Foundation, Barrister Keke Eleshin, he urged the graduates not to abandon the knowledge they had acquired but use it to benefit others and the society at large.

Barrister Eleshin explained that the world is technologically driven, hence the need for youths to get trained on computer usage to enable them participate successfully in CBT based examinations and compete favourably with their counterparts across Nigeria and the world.

“Don’t abandon what you have learnt, value it. All of you were chosen from different parts of the state. Develop yourself and others from knowledge you have acquired,” Elesin said.

Contributing, the Chairman of lkosi – lsheri LCDA, Mayoress Abolanle Bada who commended the students for their commitment to the nine weeks training, described the initiative by the Total Nucleus Foundation as apt and in line with the THEMES Plus of the Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu led administration in Lagos.

On his part , President of the Foundation, Lukman Owolabi said the objective of the foundation was to bridge the gap between the government and the governed as a way of improving the quality of lives of the poor and vulnerable.

He said the foundation began the training to acquaint students of computer based exams following the decision of the West African Examination Council, WAEC, to make it’s exams conduct based.

Mr Owolabi who explained that the youths that trained for nine weeks were drawn from across the Three Senatorial Districts of Lagos, urged the graduates to put the skills they learnt to good use and desist from cybercrimes.

“The lucky students are standing on the threshold of history. The skills will enhance their employability. This is your defining moment. Take this opportunity, it will serve as a stepping stone to your success,” he advised the students.

Among diginatries who graced .the event were the Obas of Agege, Orile Agege, Ogba and Ojoroko, as well as Engineer Peter Omotosho.
