APC candidate Okpebholo casts vote, hails INEC

 

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the Edo election, Monday Okpebholo, has voted at polling unit 1, Ward 2 in Udomi Primary School, Udomi, Irrua, Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo State.

 

He described the exercise as well coordinated, commending the electoral umpire for its efficiency especially as observed in his ward.

He said: “I feel very good. Edo is about to be liberated. Today is perfect for now. There is no problem. The conduct is very okay. INEC is doing very well. My people are happy. They are happy because a new dawn is coming to Edo.”

Also, the candidate of the Labour Party, Olumide Akpata says he is confident of victory after casting his vote at his polling unit in Oredo.

Speaking shortly after casting his vote, Akpata said he was impressed with the turnout which he described as impressive.

The Labour Party governorship candidate said victory was certain in the election because according to him, the Edo voters are hungry for change.

He said: “I am impressed with the turnout. The people are hungry for change. I am hoping that those who are superintending the process should allow the will of the people to prevail.”

Asked if he was confident of victory, he said: “We’ve got this one.”

While Akpata and his counterpart in the APC, Monday Okpebholo have voted, the case is not the same with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Asue Ighodalo as officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and election materials have yet to arrive his polling unit at the time of filing this report.
