Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State and his deputy, Engr. Benson Abounu, now have their hands in their mouths as they await the result of the Coronavirus tests conducted on them.
The tests on the two Benue State leaders were carried out, on Thursday.
Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development in the state, David Olofu, also sent his sample for the test.
Speaking on his decision, Governor Ortom noted that he willingly went for the test because it was the right thing to do and not only when the symptoms of the disease is noticed.
He encouraged other Benue people to also present themselves for the COVID-19 test, as doing so would help to contain the spread of the disease.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, the governor stressed that there was nothing shameful about knowing ones Coronavirus status.
He, further, urged the people to cooperate with the COVID-19 Action Committee at the state and local government levels, while observing the preventive measures against the pandemic.
