The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the November governorship election in Anambra State, Sen. Andy Uba, and the APC will appeal the judgment of the Federal High Court, Abuja, nullifying Uba’s candidature in the election.
Director of Of the Andy Uba Governorship Organisation, Dr. Ikechukwu Onyia, made the disclosure in a press release on Monday.
He accused the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, of trying to frustrate Uba’s efforts to reverse the result of the governorship election, as declared tribunal.

“We are not surprised that APGA members are celebrating the Justice Ekwo judgment like a child that received Christmas clothes from his father. They believe that the judgment will stop Andy Uba from proving his petition at the tribunal. The good thing is that this is not the last court in this instance. We are heading to the Appeal Court to prove them wrong,” Onyia said.
“We, therefore, urge the APGA-led government of Anambra State to keep herself busy with challenges facing the state rather than investing in ‘Operation Stop Andy Uba’ dance.”
However, he appealed to members of the APC to remain calm and not take the law in their hands.
Reacting to Onyia’s accusation, APGA’s Coordinator on Media Affairs, Chinedu Obigwe, dismissed it as “empty and baseless”.
The Anambra governorship election was held on November 6 under tense atmosphere.

Prior to the election, there had been threats and fear and this affected the turnout, as very few voters braced the odds to come and cast their ballot.
The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, had reportedly said the election would not hold and ordered a sit-at-home in protest over the continued detention of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
Nevertheless, after the election, Prof Charles Soludo of APGA dusted the other candidates, with Uba not winning even a local government.
Uba had disputed the result but many have urged him to perish the thought of challenging it at the tribunal. With the latest twist, disqualifying him even as a candidate, the number of those that expect him to forget the contest has soared.
