The Anambra State government says it is ready to prosecute some native doctors arrested in the wake of a general crackdown over ritual murders, kidnappings, fraud, and other crimes in the state.
Those now in detention include Akwa Okuko, Eke Hit, Onye Eze Jesus, and others.
They will be charged for the alleged various crimes in different courts in the state. Commissioner for Information, Dr Law Mefor confirmed the development on Monday, stating that the legal process would soon commence.
The Governor Chukwuma Soludo government had in the past weeks initiated state wide crackdown on some native doctors who he alleged were engaging in ritual killings, fraud, and kidnappings, thereby destabilizing the state.
The government, the Commissioner said, would no longer tolerate criminal elements who parade themselves as native doctors.
