Defending champions of Anambra FA Cup, FC Ifeanyiubah would begin the battle to defend the trophy they won last year with a second round game against Udalla FC today (Thursday) at their FC Ifeanyiubah Stadium, Nnewi home.
The defending champions entered into the main draw without kicking a ball, while Udalla secured a 1-0 victory over Rangels FC in a preliminary round tie.
In some of the other pairings, Ogbaru United would be up against Aspire FC, while Morning Stars would lock horns with CKC.
A member of the organizing committee, Sir Victor Nwangwu disclosed that matches would be played in four venues…Neros Stadium, Nanka, Rojenny Stadium, Oba, Ifeanyiubah Stadium, Nnewi and CKC Ground, Onitsha.
The final of the competition would be decided April 28, at the Neros Stadium Nanka with the champions smiling home with N2m. The runners up would pocket N1m, while the third placed and fourth placed team are to get N500,000 and N.1m respectively.
Nwangwu was full of praise for Neros Pharmaceuticals Limited for sponsoring the competition for over a decade.
