Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara State, on Wednesday, flagged off the construction of N8.63b RUGA projects aimed at transforming the way of life of the Fulani community to be in tune withstand modern realities.
Flagging off the construction of the RUGA projects in one of the selected site in Ranji, Sakida Grazing Reserve in Maradun local government area, Governor Mohammed said the RUGA settlements will be located in the three senatorial zones.

He said each of the three RUGA settlement is to be constructed at the cost of N2,877,000,000 and equipped with state of the earth facilities which would make the environment lively for the community and enhance cattle production.
The added that in modern times, efforts are being made all over the world to transform system of cattle rearing and production from nomadism to sedentary.
“It is, therefore, clear that our decision to embark upon Ruga project is tied to
the broader issue of security, ensuring harmonious coexistence, and solidarity among our people, especially the
farmers and herders”, he said.
