Youths begin ‘Build the Future’’ campaign for Buhari/Osinbajo re-election

Some Nigerian youths under the aegis of “Build the Future’’ on Monday began a three-day roadshow in Edo State to campaign for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in 2019.

A statement signed by Mr Afolabi Imoukhuede, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Job Creation and Youth Empowerment in Benin indicated that the event would start in Auchi, Edo North.

He said it would move to Ekpoma on Tuesday and end in Benin on Wednesday, where Gov. Godwin Obaseki and other top government officials would officially inaugurate the campaign.

“As you know we are now fully in the campaign season for the 2019 general elections.

“This is a group of purposeful and visionary young Nigerians who have admired the strong and principled leadership of Mr. President and Mr. Vice President over the last three years.

“They have come together under the banner of “Build The Future” to support their re-election come February 2019,’’ he said.

According to Imoukhuede, the youths are particularly thrilled by the “doing more with less” philosophy of PMB/PYO’s administration.

He noted that this was evident in the aggressive focus on infrastructure, agriculture, broad based and inclusive direct social investment in the youths and vulnerable poor in the country.

The presidential aide said that the campaign would officially break in the various media outlets this week.

He said that it would continue with greater focus on an effective one-to-one grassroots campaign, road show activation, strong social-digital presence and continuous radio enlightenment.

He said the campaign would highlight the many achievements of the PMB/PYO administration through active youth mobilisation.

“It is designed as a Pan-Nigeria reach with strong focus on eligible Youth Voters and the common man who are the silent majority,’’ he stated. (NAN)
