World’s fourth-richest man uses iPhone 11

Warren Buffet is the fourth richest man in the world, as per the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

The CEO and chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, a conglomerate that owns stake in really big companies — including Apple — is known to be one of the shrewdest investors in the world. However, did you know that Buffet was averse to the idea of using a smartphone.

For many years he has been using a basic flip phone from Samsung. Well, not anymore. In an interview given to CNBC, Buffet confirmed that he has finally ditched the flip phone and has been using an iPhone 11.

The flip phone — Samsung’s SCH-U230 — is now “permanently gone” Buffet said. Speaking of his iPhone 11, Buffet said that, “You’re looking at an 89-year-old guy who’s barely beginning to get with it.” He said that he doesn’t use the iPhone 11 like “most people.” He admitted that he uses it ‘just’ as a phone. In other words, he uses it to make phone calls and not use all the other “facilities” that most other people use.

In the past, Buffet has admitted that he uses an Apple iPad to check stock prices and other information but was happy to use a flip phone rather than a smartphone. The phone that Buffet was using prior to this cost him around $20 (roughly Rs 1,500). In contrast, the iPhone 11 comes at a starting price of $699.

Apple CEO Tim Cook back in 2018 in an interview revealed that he had told Buffet that he would come personally to setup his iPhone. “I told him I will personally come to Omaha and do tech support for him,” Cook had said about telling Buffet to start using an iPhone. This time, it does seem like, Cook didn’t really do tech support and the world’s fourth richest man has finally shifted to an iPhone. (gadgetsnow)
