A 38-year-old woman, Halimmah Thamando Mnyobisi is presently on the run after stabbing husband 30 times leading to his death.
Halimah allegedly murdered her husband, Fezile Mnyobisi who was a teacher at Refihlile Primary School in C-Section, in Botshabelo, Free State, South Africa leading to the police manhunt for her.
Initially, the police had thought the incident was a case of robbery and murder but after thorough investigation, it was discovered no robbery took place which could have led to the murder.
According to the police, the incident happened in September 2023 near Sechaba-se-Maketse Combined School in H1-Secti. After stabbing him multiple times, she drove him to the hospital in a bid to save his life but he was declared dead on arrival.
“After intensive investigation by Botshabelo detectives working together with the Provincial Investigative Psychology Section, three suspects were arrested after warrants of their arrests were issued. Vusumuzi Daniel Nqele, 43, Moeketsi Innocent Manko, 35, were arrested on Friday November 8, 2024, for murder and conspiracy to commit murder,” said police spokesperson.
After her disappearance, police arrested her 35-year old brother, Abdool Thamani who is presently being detained.
The police have called on the people to be on the lookout for the suspect and report to the authorities if found anywhere.
“The wanted suspect has been evading arrest and anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to contact detectives.”
