The police in Niger State have arrested a 37-year-old woman, Fatima Sani, of Gobirawa village in Mashegu Local Government Area of Niger State for allegedly killing her mother-in-law.
The state Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Adamu Usman, said in Minna yesterday that the suspect had quarrelled with her husband, Sani Umaru, on April 23, which led to divorce.
However, she alleged that her 70-year-old mother in-law, Aishatu Umaru was responsible for the divorce and went to the old woman’s village Tozon Daji, and stabbed her to death.
The CP added that the case is being investigated and the suspect would soon be charged to court.
