Wike alleges GOC engaging in illegal oil bunkering to finance COAS ambition

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has accused the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 6th Amphibious Division of Nigeria Army, in Port Harcourt, of engaging in illegal oil bunkering.

The Rivers State governor tweeted this, on Wednesday, on his tweeter handle, @GovWike, while playing host to some top Nigerian Navy officers in his office in Port Harcourt.

Governor Wike also alleged that the GOC was using the proceeds of the illegal bunkering to oil his way to becoming the next Chief of Army Staff (COAS).

The tweets read thus: “The GOC is doing illegal bunkering, which he is using to finance his quest to emerge as the country’s Chief of @HQNigerianArmy Staff.

He has his own team that is making money for him through oil bunkering”.

“I wonder what the Joint Task Force Operation Delta Safe would do when they encounter the illegal oil bunkering team of the GOC,” the tweets read.
