Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has accused Chief Raymond Dokpesi, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  of anti-parry activities.

The governor alleged that Dokpesi was working for the interest of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and also plotting to destroy PDP governors ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Governor Wike, who was reacting to rumours that he and other PDP governors were in Europe to decide the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, claimed that Dokpesi was spreading the rumour.

He said the PDP was being reset to take over the reins of power in Nigeria next year and bemoaned that opposition members were sowing seeds of discord among the governors.

According to him: “I have some suspicion that people like Raymond Dokpesi are not really sincere to the Peoples Democratic Party and I think I’m convinced that Raymond Dokpesi appears to be working for APC.

“I don’t understand where Raymond Dokpesi gets this information, this rumour that governors travelled to Europe to decide who will be the presidential candidate and vice presidential candidate of PDP. I wonder why governors will travel to Europe to take such a decision.”

The governor warned Dokpesi not to use his support for the presidential aspiration of former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, to disorganise the governor’s of PDP in order not the jeorpardise the party’s chances in next year’s poll.
