Human rights activist and former federal lawmaker, Sen. Shehu Sani, has given reasons Kano and Jigawa states have not been experiencing terrorist attacks.
Sani in a statement he made on X (formerly Twitter), explained that previous administrations of the two North-west states invested heavily in the security of the states, which the current administrations sustained.
Besides that, however, the residents of the two states have also remained conscious and respond appropriately to suspicious security breaches in the states.
“The two states in the Northwest of Nigeria that have become protected or insulated from terrorists and bandits attacks are Kano and Jigawa states,” Sen. Sani wrote.
“The basic reasons for these are the security investments made by their former and present governments, and the proactive and prompt response of the residents in those states to any blink of suspicious security threats or movements.”
